Prerequisites

The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this course are as follows:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) level-of-knowledge is recommended for students attending the RSCAT4K course.
Course Content

Implementing Cisco Catalyst 3560-X, 3750-X, and 4500 Series Switches (RSCAT4K) v1.0 is a three-day lecture and lab course that provides learners with fundamental skills in configuring Cisco Catalyst 2960-S, 3560-X, 3750-X, and 4500E Series Switches.

Course topics include setting up the switches, configuring interfaces, spanning tree, EtherChannels, high availability, Power over Ethernet (PoE), quality of service (QoS), and NetFlow.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to meet these overall objectives:

  • Identify the Cisco Catalyst 3560-X, 3750-X, and 4500E Series Switches product family, specifically the Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series Switches chassis and components
  • Given a requirement, identify how to plan and implement virtual switch services into the solution
  • Evaluate the security features available on the Cisco Catalyst 3560-X, 3750-X, and 4500E Series Switches to identify which features should be implemented in a solution
  • Evaluate the service-level and network-level high availability of the Cisco Catalyst 3560-X, 3750-X, and 4500E Series Switches and how to use the Cisco IOS In-Service Software Upgrade feature
  • Understand the processes, tools, and resources for troubleshooting the network infrastructure, interconnectivity, and operations
