For attaining the certification all candidates must meet the following baseline requirements, but not necessarily prior to taking this course.
Earn the VCP3 or VCP4 (VMWare Certified Professional on VI3 or vSphere 4 ) PLUS One of the following options (Choose either option #1 or #2):
Option #1 "Fast Start" Option
- Hold a valid CCNA
- Take single 642-979 DCUCI Qualifier Exam demonstrating mastery of foundation datacenter engineering topics.
or Option #2: Earn two existing foundation level Datacenter specialists for engineers.

Data Center Unified Computing Implementation (DCUCI) is designed to serve the needs of engineers and technicians who implement Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) B-Series Blade Servers and Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers.
Data Center Unified Computing Implementation (DCUCI) v4.0 guides learners through rack installation and the provisioning of server hardware, operating systems or hypervisors, and applications. Significant content is devoted to management, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Data Center Unified Computing Implementation (DCUCI) v4.0 articulates Cisco data-center virtualization solutions and explains how to execute a virtualization solution that is based on a detailed implementation plan.
